This archive contains model simulation results from simulations with the dynamic vegetation model LPJ-GUESS. See Materials and Methods and Supporting Information of the original manuscript for a detailed description of the simulation setup. The model results are gathered in the following directories: ./present/ Contains the model results from the simulations with land use (./landuse) and potentialnatural vegetation (./natural) for the 20th century; the latter was performed to separate the land use flux from the residual land sink. cpool.out contains the magnitude of C pools (kg C/m2), cflux.out contains the magnitude of C fluxes (kg C/m2/y). ./future/cmip5_simulations/ Contains the model results from the simulations applying forcing from the large set of CMIP5 GCM simulations. Directories are named after the GCM and RCP (Supporting Information, Table S2). Directories contain time slices of the terrestrial C pools (cpool_*) and of the terrestrial C fluxes (cflux_*) for 2081-2100. ./future/scaled_simulations/ Contains the model results from the scaled simulations for five levels of CO2 increase and five levels of climate change, applying pattern scaling using climate change patterns from several different GCM simulations. Change in atmospheric CO2: C0: 0 ppmv CO2 C1: 250 ppmv CO2 C2: 500 ppmv CO2 C3: 750 ppmv CO2 C4: 1000 ppmv CO2 Change in global mean temperature: T0: 0 K T1: 2 K T2: 4 K T3: 6 K T4: 8 K Simulations without climate change (T0, 0 K) are provided once in general_C*_T0/. Simulations with different climate change patterns are provided for four different GCMs and for ipsl_cm5a_mr in four different RCPs (Supporting Information, Table S1). Directories contain time slices of the terrestrial C pools (cpool_*) and of the terrestrial C fluxes (cflux_*) for 2081-2100. These can be compared with the time slice for present-day (1981-2000) provided in general_C0_T0.
